I am a marine ecologist, triathlete, water polo player recently uprooted from my home of almost ten years in eastern North Carolina to start a post-doc in France and Germany. This blog is intended to reduce the mass e-mail sending I would otherwise need to do to keep in touch with all my wonderful friends. It won’t contain any comments about my work or my personal life–that stuff is on a need-to-know basis–but it will keep you all updated on what I am seeing and experiencing in my (hopefully!) adventurous year in Europe.

To actually read my blog entries, go to “archives” and click on the month you want. I am at the mercy of the pre-programmed blog choices available here, so if you are here for the first time you will have to start at the bottom of the page for the month you want to start at (hint: I moved to France in 2008 February) and read upwards. If you are a faithful Galen blog reader, you just have to scroll down to the last entry you read. I tried to make it move forward rather than backward chronologically and it is beyond me.

GERMANY PICTURES AVAILABLE ON POSTS FROM MAY.

I found it. I am not sure how it works backward chronologically so I will be trying things for a while. This is a test to see if I am getting through.
